First week back.

The children have been really busy this week! The main focus was to ensure they were well settled into their new class and the new routines of KS2. They have been introduced to the new whole school behaviour policy “Good to be Green’ and together we decided on rules that we wanted to apply to our classroom. Keeping it tidy was a popular choice, mainly from the girls!

The children have had fun drawing T-Shirt designs that give a hint of their personalities and interests, as well as taking silly photographs of themselves to stick on top!

I have really enjoyed hearing and reading all about the actives and holidays the children have been involved in over the summer and we used Google Earth to find the locations of these holidays and mark them on a map.

In maths the children have been exploring how graphs and charts can help to organise our classroom by deciding table group names and sorting birthday dates.

Finally Forest Schools began this Friday and the children had the chance to explore the school grounds, play in the dell and work in teams for a scavenger hunt of natural objects.

The children have settled in so well, have engaged thoroughly in every activity and behaved wonderfully, they have been a pleasure to teach. I look forward to getting to know them better over the next few weeks!
